Let’s talk about immunity, and how to keep your immune system super strong!
The truth is, really healthy people never get sick because they have a strong immune system. Everything is working the way it should. It doesn’t matter what kind of virus, or any external thing that’s going around Someone with a strong immune system never gets sick. This is the case with ebola virus, coronavirus… with pretty much every virus. You can research and look into the deadliest viruses, where people are fully exposed, and they never even showed symptoms.
So I want to talk a bit about the foods, some of the herbs, the activities and things that are actually going to be the best ways to keep your immune system strong.
Immune-Rich Foods
When it comes to food, it is actually the fruits that are the winners here. A lot of people avoid fruit thinking it has a lot of sugar, but it’s actually the fruits that are like astringents. They are one of the greatest antioxidants to boost our immune system to keep us strong.
When I say fruits, citrus is right up there, particularly lemons. Lemons grow year ’round. It’s like Mother Nature’s way of telling us, ‘if you’ve got a problem, there’s always a lemon’.
Squeezing some lemon juice into your water cleans the liver and the lymphatic system. It gives you all the electrolytes you are looking for, keeping you nicely hydrated.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
It’s well-known that the vitamin C in citrus fruits helps to boost your immune system. But please don’t use those stupid packets that are genetically modified bacteria from China! Just eat real citrus.
Lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit – all amazing for clearing the lymphatic system.
Our immune system travels through the lymphatic system and exchanges between the blood in every part of the body.
Better than that, or equally as good, would be berries. Think strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, elderberries. They say the darker the berry, the more antioxidants. Berries have so many chemical phytonutrients, like ellagic acid, which has been known to fight off cancer. There’s lot of research about this that can easily be looked up.
A great way to get berries is to buy frozen organic berries. Then, a couple times a week, just blend a cup of berries into a delicious smoothie, and drink it down. Of course, if you can get fresh berries and be consuming those as well…
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
Immune System Healing Herbs
There are also some great herbal remedies that will fight off infections. Oregano is one of the greatest natural antibiotics. In fact, it has been researched by universities more than anything else. It actually out-performs all different forms of antibiotics. It can kill off some types of bacterial infections, like staph, that antibiotics don’t.
Garlic is also up there as a great antibiotic.
When it comes to enhancing your immune system, I would say echinacea tea. So, if you have a lowered immune system, things aren’t healing correctly and you get sick a lot, echinacea tea is a good one.

Also Dandelion Root and leaf. There is so much scientific research about dandelion root modulating your immune system and even fighting off cancer. If you pop ‘dandelion root extract and cancer’ into PubMed or Journal of American Medicine (some of the leading medical journals on earth), you’ll find heaps of research that will blow your mind.
So, Echinacea and Dandelion Root teas are amazing for the immune system and check out oregano and garlic if you are looking to kill infection.
Get Moving
Keeping our lymphatic system open and moving is of utmost importance.
The way we do that is with deep breathing and activation of muscles. So, doing things like yoga, breathing exercises, pilates or any type of movement where you are doing deep breathing – even meditation or Wim Hof.
I would definitely recommend you look up Wim Hof. He does deep breathing exercises that massively increase the immune system, detoxify and alkalise the body. He can be injected with a bacteria that would cause anybody else to go through a flu and nothing happens. And he has trained other people to do this.
So, deep breathing exercises, walking, running, sport, any activity… we need to be active to keep the system moving.
Our immune system can only work as good as it can travel through the body. It travels through the lymphatic system and through the blood. So, daily activity, any type of movement is important to keep our immune system healthy.
You don’t have to be a marathon athlete! It’s about getting out for 30-45 minutes a day, concentrating on deep breathing and getting a nice brisk walk in at the bare minimum. Anything over and above that…
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
Morning Rituals for Balanced Hormones
Most days I do a Morning Ritual I call “Shake & Bake”. It’s a process of clearing the lymphatic system all through the body and opening and increasing our endocrine system. I do this by getting the pineal and pituitary working. The thyroid, adrenals and reproductive system are also going to make sure our hormones are working correctly – amazing.
And talking about hormones, another food that is really good is adaptogens. Specifically medicinal mushrooms -look into reishi, chaga or any others. They are the types of things you could supplement a bit. Get some powders to put into your smoothie, tea or coffee. There are also extracts that would be phenomenal.
Vitamin D for Immune System Health
Over and above all of it, the thing that is THE most simple, and that has a radical increase of your immune system, is an immunomodulator – Vitamin D.
One of the greatest things you can do for your immune system is to just get out in the sun and let your solar panels absorb it. It changes the cholesterol inside of your body into vitamin D, which is a hormone that corrects and gives information to all the cells and increases your immune system. It will keep you super healthy.
So, I know this is a lot of information! But if you pick and choose some of these things (or do a little bit of all of it), you’re not going to get sick. You’re not going to have fevers and major problems. You are going to be super healthy.
Keep showing up. Let’s rock this space!
