Psoriasis is a skin condition that shows up as a rash on different places over the body. The rash can present with varying degrees of severity depending on the person. The medical community doesn’t really know what causes psoriasis. However, I have my own opinions about it that I want to share with you here. I’ll also share what I know works as a way of healing psoriasis.
What Causes Psoriasis?
I believe that psoriasis is an external indication of actual accumulation of plaque or some form of toxicity held within the body. Our body is a reflex organism and by that I mean that if I have an accumulation of toxicity somewhere in my body, then it will probably show up externally as a sign or reflex. This reflex is there to show me that something inside needs attention.
There are all kinds of systems used to read these reflex signs. For example, in traditional Chinese medicine, there are meridian lines that run through the body. So, by mapping out where rashes are occurring, in relation to meridian lines, you can identify which organ is in need of cleaning, be it the liver, or spleen, or gallbladder for example.
And when you look at it from that perspective, psoriasis is a signal that there is something that needs to be healed internally. So then how do we heal it? I want to discuss three main things that I believe you can do to absolutely eliminate psoriasis from your life.
Natural Ways to Heal Psoriasis Through Fasting
Number 1 is detoxification. Going through a process of inundating yourself with really good nutrition and potentially fasting to clear out any plaque, heavy metals and other toxins that may have accumulated over time.
Skin conditions are often one of the first things to clear up during a fast (diabetes is the other one). Research from the University of Chicago supports this. Skin conditions like eczema, acne, psoriasis. And I can tell you from experience, we’ve had so many people write testimonials after completing a juice fasting program with us with pictures of their psoriasis, eczema and different skin conditions all cleared up. Through an extended period of juice fasting, they’ve been able to completely eliminate it.
If you sign up for the Free Resources on my website, you get access to a heap of education on fasting, recipes and really beautiful hints and tips. I used to charge a lot of money for this information now it’s absolutely free. Why? Because I know fasting works and it can make a massive difference in people’s lives, so I wanted to make it available to everyone.
If you choose to do a 7 day juice fast, sometimes you may only start to see the profound results towards the end of the 7 days, so you might want to extend it out to 14 or 21 days. Once you’ve eliminated the plaque and you get to the causal issues of the stored toxicity in the body, then that will actually help you to eliminate psoriasis completely. I know of many people who had psoriasis, who no longer have it – and never will again – because they modified their lifestyle.
Now if it’s a child who has psoriasis, try a raw whole food diet with loads of fresh juices. The juices really introduce a massive amount of energy, vitality, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients into their body. You can try doing maybe a 3-day juice fast with an 11-year-old and if they get hungry give them some fresh fruit, or a big green smoothie or even a salad so they stay a little bit full while still inundating them with the juices.

Letting Sunshine Heal Your Skin
Number 2 is sunshine. I know of many cases of psoriasis where simply getting out into the sun and building a tan has really helped.
The UV rays that hit the skin actually set off an internal process of stimulating cholesterol to be converted to vitamin D. Vitamin D is a hormone in the body that does all kinds of amazing things, including balancing your hormones which helps the body communicate and do all that it needs to do.
When it comes to sunshine, start out slow. Maybe sunbathing 10 minutes at a time, then slowly build up as you develop a tan. Since I have a tan, I normally lay out for about 30-45 minutes in direct sunlight between 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock. If you’re in a place that is not so sunny, I recommend using UV lights that are designed to mimic the sun.
Yes, I’m talking about using a sunbed or solarium (oohh taboo!). I know there’s a lot of bad press about them, but the fact is they don’t cause cancer. It’s not eating enough fruits and vegetables that cause cancer (including skin cancer) and there’s plenty of research to prove this. And according to many studies, Vitamin D is the number one factor to reduce your risk of skin cancer. So, if you’re in a low natural light environment, I would consider using a solarium for say half the recommended time, just to get that UV hit and develop some vitamin D for the health of the skin.
The best thing to do before UV exposure to optimally prepare your skin is the process of guasha to really clean your skin, which leads me to my next point.
Detoxing the Skin Through the Process of Guasha and Healing Salt Baths
Number 3 is taking hot salt baths and really cleaning the skin. I use a process called guasha, which is basically a body scrub of vodka and bicarbonate soda that really opens up the pores of the skin and gets rid of all the dead skin cells. It helps to detoxify the skin and cleans out all the yeast, mould, fungus, parasites and other things that can exist in the 7 layers of dermis and epidermis. It also helps get rid of the petrochemicals from personal care products that accumulate in the skin.
As well as deep cleaning the skin, take a hot salt bath. You can use sea salts or epsom salts and maybe some lavender essential oil also. Bathe in that once a night, especially during the process of cleansing.
I believe this issue of psoriasis is just going to be completely knocked out if you implement all the things I’ve suggested here. And for children the same principles apply, it doesn’t matter what age. If you’re making an effort to detox, get out into the sunshine very day and deep cleaning your skin, then you’re going to feel better.
Enjoy having beautiful skin!
